Mick Hadley & The Atomic Boogie Band Playing 7:00~8:00pm The Atomic boogie Band is Mick Hadley’s latest line up. It is another explosive mixture of the best Blues/Swing players in South-East Queensland. The ban is Craig Claxton on Guitar, Kevin Howard on Bass and Keith Megson on Drums. Mick’s brand of high energy electric R&B is always a crowd pleaser and has resulted in many long residencies in the pubs and clubs of South East Queensland. Mick has also “Blown Away” three Byrons two Woodfords and many a Muster. Mick Hadley’s first gigs were in London in the early Sixties, riding the British R&B boom with Alexis Korner, Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton and John Mayall. Arriving in Australia in Early ’63 Mick formed the Purple Hearts with the legendary Lobby Lloyd and was conceivably Australia’s first electric Blues band. The Hearts took the east coast by storm and settled in Melbourne in the mid sixties cementing the Hearts as an iconic Australian band whose vinyl recordings are still in demand today. Mick then went on to lead the Coloured Balls, another of Brisbane’s great bands, moving on then to the Last Shout and the Shakers, each band spanning about a decade each. Mick was also awarded the Centenary Medal for distinguished service and contributions to the music industry. A firm believer in live music, Mick has always spoken up for live players as opposed to drum machines and samplers. Now with over 4,000 gigs under his belt Mick still has the same passion and energy for live gigs and will give his “all” to every gig. www.mickhadley.com |
