Playing 4:00~5:00 on Stage 1
The time was June 2007. The place was Brisbane. The sun was high and the mood full of portent. The drought was taking its toll. Something had to happen, and soon. Three men were poised to take action that would change the musical face of Brisbane (they just didn’t know it yet). One day Junior rang up Pete and said “What are you up to mate? Do you wanna start a band?” Pete, always the master of clarity and concision, replied “Yup”. The game was on and The Trophy Brides were born.
A phone call to Mitchie, one of Brisbane's leading beer executives, secured him as the rhythm section. Junior Hickey (ex-Harpoon, BlankCZECH) wails as the singer and Bluesharp player, Pete Edwards (ex-Chromedaddies) kicks rock and blues arse on guitar and Mitchie Mayhem plays his Double bass with more punch and rhythm than Mike Tyson and Ginger Baker's lovechild. The blend of Brisbilly blues and rock attitude is the result. The Trophy Brides are here.
