Bridezilla Aussie Tour
Having just returned from a series of unforgettable shows in Melbourne, Bridezilla are gearing up for a month of outstanding gigs in Sydney over the month of December. On top of this, they will also be supporting Portland’s indie rock legends, The Decemberists, at their Sydney and Melbourne sideshows in January 2010!
The action will begin Thursday 3rd December with an in-store in Sydney’s iconic indie retailer, Hum, King Street. Running from 6.00pm-6.30pm, the appearance will see them signing copies of their acclaimed debut album, ‘The First Dance’, as well as perform a handful of songs!
Following this, the group will head to Sydney’s legendary Homebake Festival on Saturday 5th December. Taking the stage alongside acts including Powderfinger, Sia, Sarah Blasko, Decoder Ring, and Eddy Current Suppression Ring, this performance will help cement Bridezilla’s credentials as one of the country’s most promising up-and-coming bands.
Bridezilla will be staging their very own album launch at GoodGod Small Club on Thursday 10th December. After the last few months – where Bridezilla have played shows abroad, including the prestigious ATP Festival New York (curated by Flaming Lips) – the official Sydney launch promises to be a stunning homecoming.
In January of next year, the group have been announced as support for The Temper Trap at The Metro on Tuesday 8th January, and will also support acclaimed indie-rockers, The Decemberists, in both Sydney and Melbourne!
These shows will follow a month of endless critical praise for Bridezilla, whose debut ‘The First Dance’ hit shelves on 7th November. The album has been honoured with Album Of The Week status on community stations across the country, including Sydney’s FBI and 2SER, Melbourne’s 3RRR and Perth’s RTR. Drum Media crowned the album their CD Of The Week, describing it as “an album of intelligence, depth, and genuine beauty.” Sydney Morning Herald hailed the album for its “mesmeric, circular patterns,” which work as “a web that snares intentions and momentum,” while Rolling Stone praised the record as a “sublimely confident debut in a class of its own” (ÍÍÍÍ).
