![]() FLiCKERFEST 2010 National Tour After the ten day Sydney competition & festival, Flickerfest packs its little red suitcase and rolls out the show for the 23 venue National Tour! The films on the tour are the pick of the crop - all united by their excellence within the short film genre and represent the freshest trends in global cinema! Home delivered! Flickerfest celebrates its 19th year as Australia’s only Academy® Award accredited Short Film festival, with a record 1600 entries and 23 touring venues nationally. Flickerfest screens the most creative and inspirational shorts films from across the globe, many are Australian and World premieres. A total of 97 Australian and International shorts were officially selected in competition in 2010. “We are thrilled with the response this year and have been overwhelmed with a record of over 1600 entries received from around the globe, Flickerfest continues to attract the latest in cutting edge and award-winning shorts from the world’s most exciting new filmmakers”, said Festival Director, Bronwyn Kidd. “This guarantees that the festival presents our Australian audiences with a short film competition amongst the best in the world.” This year Flickerfest includes two International programmes, International one & International two, featuring a fabulous showcase of shorts direct from international festivals such as Annecy, Aspen, Berlinale & Cannes. There is also an exciting selection of Best Of Australian Shorts programme which has been especially curated for the FLiCKERFEST National Tour. The films are a selection from five Australian Competition programmes, including AFI Award winners, The Cat Piano(AFI Award Best Animation) & Miracle Fish(AFI Award Best Film & Best Script, Oscar Nominee and 2010 DENDY AWARD winner, Sydney Film Festival. As Australia’s only Academy® Award accredited Short Film festival Flickerfest will close the Brisbane stretch of the festival with a collection of Oscar Shorts.
