Good Evening – The Sketches of Peter Cook
and Dudley Moore

This theatrical event now playing at The Brisbane Powerhouse provided one of the most entertaining evenings of the year as Stephen Curry (The Castle, The King) and Shaun Micallef (Talkin' Bout Your Generation) tackle the material of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore.

This is no slavish exercise to the British duo’s material but more a loving recreation where Curry and Micallef bring the material up to date with just the right mix of current events, local references and classic bits from the past. They also completely succeed in bringing some of the duo’s classic riffs back to life including The Great Train Robbery, The Frog and Peach and One Leg Two Few.

It was a engaging night of quick wit and comic nuance and one that provided great food for thought that should live in the mind forever or at least until the BBC has their way and erases 80% of my memories.
