Mama Kin Summer Tour
Mama Kin's bittersweet melodies soar with stomping piano and swampy
beats, all the while traversing the riotous, the raw and the intimate.
Already a favourite on the festival circuit with killer appearances at
Woodford Folk Festival and the Byron Bay Bluesfest under her belt, Mama Kin
draws on her experiences of love, life and heartache to deliver a set
that is as engaging as it is inspirational.
This summer Mama Kin will take to the road to nourish the eardrums of
music lovers nationally, showcasing tunes from her debut album Beat and
Holler, due in store through MGM Distribution July, 2010.
Beat and Holler marks the arrival of a sassy, soulful femme fatale,
with hints of Regina Spektor, Fiona Apple and Joan As Policewoman.
Powerful and gut-wrenchingly honest, Mama Kin's roots-tinged soul
conjures the songbird greats.
Tore My Heart Out, the first single from Mama Kin’s debut album was
named iTunes Single of the Week. The accompanying video clip, complete
with drum majorettes in suburban streets, scored indie clip of the week
on Rage and was named clip of the week by The Daily Telegraph. The
first taste of what’s to come from Mama Kin, Tore My Heart Out,
resonates with her trademark passion and pathos.
“really special, totally smouldering … sure to set your soul on fire.” - The Sun Herald
“Caruana’s expressiveness shines” - The Daily Telegraph
“heartache and melody...pulling you along for a beautiful journey.” Dom Alessio Triple J Home n Hosed
"this year's next big thing" - Sarah Howells, Roots N All, Triple J
