Marilyn Manson Australian Tour 09
The forecast for October is ominous, threatening, dark and thunderous, courtesy of Marilyn Manson. Mr. Manson and his subversive rock ensemble return to Australia in October for their first tour since the release of Eat Me, Drink Me two years back.
Marilyn Manson's seventh album, The High End of Low, debuted at number 12 on the Australian charts, proving the band have lost none of their intense fan-base. As controversial and unrelenting as ever, the album also debuted at number 4 in the US, their highest debut in America in years.
Critics have hailed The High End of Low as a major return to form for the band, who have just marked their 20th anniversary together.
"Manson's reunion with longtime guitarist-bassist Twiggy Ramirez; together with producers Sean Beavan and Chris Vrenna, (sees them) sculpt a sound both harder-hitting and more finely detailed than on any previous Marilyn Manson record," the LA Times wrote of the new album.
"While it's still easy to dismiss his shock tactics as puerile and insensitive he hasn't sounded this vital - and tuneful - since Mechanical Animals," said Spin Magazine.
As anyone who's seen the band live knows - it's going to be a raucous night of entertainment not for the easily offended!
