Micheline Van Hautem –
La Musique of Jacques Brel
Playing to packed houses at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Sydney Opera House and Adelaide Cabaret Festival, critically acclaimed Belgian chanteuse Micheline Van Hautem returns to the Judith Wright Centre with La Musique of Jacques Brel on Friday 25 March 2011.

Accompanied by virtuoso guitarist Ben Hauptmann (who currently plays with Katie Noonan and the Captains and Lior), Micheline says she will pay homage to her fellow countryman Jaques Brel as she performs her Brel favourites.
"Even though Jacques Brel lived quite a few years ago, and he's a man, and he sings in French, I have always found a very strong connection with his music.
“La Musique of Jacques Brel celebrates the work of Brel and the way in which he has inspired my own work; I play my own Brel favourites and a few of my own originals that have been inspired by singing Brel all over the world.”
Renowned for her spell-binding stage presence and emotional expression, Micheline inhabits the poetry and passion of Brel’s music, singing in French, Flemish and English.
Micheline’s love for the music of Jacques Brel culminated in 2009 when she embarked on a 60-date European tour with Jacques Brel’s nephew Bruno Brel.
Only 300 seats are available for Micheline’s intimate Brisbane performance at the Judith Wright Centre on Friday 25 March 2011.
