![]() One Movement For Music Perth 2010 Festival One Movement for Music Perth (OMFM) is once again shaping up to be one of the most important music events in the Southern Hemisphere, after establishing itself as a groundbreaking event in its inaugural year. A pioneering music industry conference, hosted by MUSEXPO, and a festival for the Asia Pacific Region, OMFM is proud to unveil the artists set to perform at this stand out event to be held 6 to 10 October, 2010.
Weekend Festival – Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 October, 2010 We are pleased to be welcoming to The Esplanade’s Weekend Festival stage Aussie favourites Xavier Rudd [pictured left], Grinspoon, Children Collide and British India. Rising stars of the Australian music scene also set to take the festival stage are Operator Please, Drapht, Cloud Control, Sally Seltmann. And emerging acts of 2010: Gypsy And The Cat, An Horse, Hungry Kids Of Hungary, Parades, Richard In Your Mind, Boy & Bear, The Melodics, Tim & Jean, The Holidays, The Only, The Paper Scissors, Purple Sneakers DJs, The Chemist and once again Triple J brings us a fresh breed of Aussie talent with Unearthed High winners, Stonefield; Triple J Unearthed State Winners will be announced in the lead-up to the festival. Travelling far and wide to be a part of our international contingent are Ben Kweller (USA), Shapeshifter (NZ), Dengue Fever (USA), ZE! (Malaysia), Delta Spirit (USA), Via Tania (USA), Raghu Dixit (India), Jonneine Zapata (USA), Bedouin Soundclash (Can), KORA (NZ), The Telephones (Japan), Melodramas (UK), Liz Green (UK), Get Dexter (UK) and The Great Spy Experiment (Sing). Several acts who helped to make OMFM 2009 as impressive and successful as it was are returning to do it all again in 2010. Based on the great outcomes from last year we are overjoyed to be welcoming back to the Festival stage Aussie darling and chart topper Kate Miller-Heidke; Melburnian electronica gods, Miami Horror; South Korea’s glam pop/rockers, Biuret; modern-day troubadour, Australia’s own Dan Sultan; Aussie alternative rockers Dead Letter Circus, and Passenger from the UK. Congratulations to Get Dexter (UK) & The Paper Scissors, who were the Sonicbids winning bands chosen to perform at this year’s One Movement Music Festival. Industry Showcases – Wednesday 6 October to Sunday 10 October, 2010 This year’s industry showcases are shaping up to be HUGE! With more acts than last year, many of which are exclusive to the showcases, more venues, more days and more breaking bands, this really is your chance to discover some cutting edge acts performing in unique spaces in the city. Acts from all over the world including USA, Canada, UK, Japan, Korea, Russia and India, plus a whole host of local bands will showcase their wares to the assembled heavy weights of the music industry. This year One Movement has commandeered new exclusive showcase venues including parking areas at The Amplifier and Dillettante. Adding to these unique urban One Movement venue spaces is the nearby cafe Tiger Tiger. Live music stomping grounds, the Amplifier Bar and Capitol are also new welcome additions to the 2010 showcase program. The wonderfully converted Wolf Lane Carpark and boutique drinking spot, the Belgian Beer Café both will also see a return of great talent. Some of this year’s showcase artists include internationals Dzham (Rus), Colin Moore (Can), Rubylux (UK), The Respectables (Can), Final Flash (Can), Lost Souls Club (UK), The Trews (Can), and The Circus (Ind). Australian showcase acts include Drawn From Bees, OKA, The Jezabels, Cameras, Metals, Bloodpoets, MM9, Big Scary, The Audreys, Pikelet, Blackchords, Skybombers, Daniel Ratta, Papa vs Pretty, Pez and Ernest Ellis.
