The doors open at 7.00, first band starts at 7.30 and we hope to see you there BANDS PLAYING ON THE NIGHT ARE: BLACK MUSTANG Having burst onto the Brisbane live scene in 2004, Black Mustang have played and toured relentlessly covering all corners of Australia while earning a reputation as Brisbane’s own garage rock stalwarts. Developing their dynamic live show they released their debut self titled 6 track EP “ Black Mustang” in 2007 and quickly followed up with their debut full length album “ Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea” in 2008. This year sees the release of their latest long player “ Loaded Gun” . THE BLACKWATER FEVER In Stereo is the 2nd full length from Australian two piece The Blackwater F ever. Recorded at the newly established Brisbane's Borough Studio's the album is a blend of rock n' roll, blues and soul. Written honesty and performed with intensity and vigor. Ignoring all cool kid trends and hipster synth sounds. The Blackwater F ever have produced a potent semaphore release. Breaking your heart one minute only to pick you up with an irresistible rocker the next, this Brisbane-based duo are a live experience not to be missed. INLAND SEA The ten members of Brisbane's Inland Sea are bound together by a love of complex harmonies and song writing. Since forming in early 2010 Inland Sea have won hearts with their luscious five-part vocal harmonies, interwoven instrumentation and lyrical sincerity. Creating a sound that soars and swells higher than the tide, their music evokes the awe, majesty, melancholy and bittersweet joy of the stormy shore. INTERCOOLER In what is going to be one of the most hotly anticipated independent releases of the Summer, Brisbane's favourite indie popsters Intercooler are proudly embracing their past and looking bravely forward to the future with their new long player “ Time To let Go” and we agree that it’s Time To Let Go of the past and embrace the future as we introduce you (again) to Intercooler. SILENT FEATURE ERA In a quiet, quiet den lived the Silent F eature Era. A sepia-hued behemoth built of bones and Bakelite-era radio phonic apparatus, the Silent F eature Era recorded songs in the den. For an age it bunkered down and made sound of all that it imagined of the great, vivid world. Bush Noir odes to promise and deceit amid gums and grey mares, vaudevillian pugilists swinging amid a boozy kaleidoscope of mariachi horns, sine wave synthesisers and crooked, cooked guitars. Come and see for yourself one of Brisbane’s most exciting new live acts. Plus One Records Showcase 2011 Venue: The Zoo, Fortitude Valley Dates: 06/09/11 Official Site: www.plusonerecords.com.au |
