Rokeby Venus – Grab the brass ring
If a farm club system like in American baseball really exists in the music biz then the Escalate series of shows really does give unknown bands a chance to be seen and maybe even get some work. When the owner of the Tempo Hotel (a musician himself) saw Rokeby Venus the first time at one of those new band showcases he knew the band was on to something. He offered them a residency at the hotel on Thursday nights and the band grabbed the brass ring.
The trio mixes multi-part vocal harmonies, a solid guitar sound and polished song writing skills to create something new and fresh. They will be dropping a large number of original tracks in their set lists as well as covering some classics tracks. Having almost sold out their self-titled EP, gotten radio play from Nova FM, JJJ, ZZZ and are presently spending studio time on a full-length album, the boys in the band are working hard.
The band will be playing at the Tempo Hotel (formerly known as Dooley’s Hotel) every Thursday night in June from 7PM and admission is absolutely free. See them now and you can say you saw them when.
