The Stoke: Skateboarding in Brisbane
The Stoke is an all access pass to Brisbane skateboarding history and culture for everyone – the uninitiated, hardcore skateboarders, museum lovers, design aficionados, extreme sports heads and fans of pop-culture.
The Stoke also explores the intersection of physical and artistic expression that defines the pursuit of skateboarding and the camaraderie that unites Brisbane skateboarders from all walks of life from the 1960s to today.
A highlight of the exhibition is a replica bowl, inspired by the
legendary Moorooka Skate Shed, which will come alive with demonstrations
and workshops from Brisbane’s skateboarding community.
Discover the meaning of ‘the stoke’ as MoB investigates the enduring
culture of skateboarding in Brisbane - its people, legends and stories.
