![]() Valley Fiesta 2010 Valley Fiesta 2010 is set to ignite the Valley Entertainment Precinct – quite literally! With a killer line up of incredible indie bands, as well as some new initiatives, Valley Fiesta 2010 promises to deliver a vibrant and diverse program of arts, music, food and fashion.
The Pyrophone Juggernaut, a 15 metre high, multi-octave fire organ, is the largest in the world. This flaming musical sculpture, creates a percussive spectacle, in an unearthly concert of heart pulsing rhythms. Erupting nightly on the hour, from 6pm in Chinatown Mall, this awe-inspiring experience will be the centre piece of Fiesta. ‘A percussive spectacle of ‘Orwellian’ proportions, where the energetic performances of the artists pulse hand in hand with the awe inspiring furnace driven melodies. You got to hear it yourself to believe it’ ODDSTRUMENT.COM Festival Director, Scott Maidment says ‘Brisbane has never seen anything like this! Made from reclaimed metals, this is truly amazing and not to be missed. Gas ignited instead of wind, fires up the tuned pipes creating a perforamnce that will truly shake the walls of Chinatown Mall’ The iconic Ann Street Party returns to the Valley after a three year absence. The face of the Valley will transform as films, exhibitions, fashion, performances and live music take over the shopfronts of the Valley’s retailers and restaurants. Expect the unexpected, with this Nine Lives collaboration. Fine Art of Dress will see Jan Murphy, Philip Bacon and Heiser Galleries host a special event of exhibitions and fashion parades from Easton Pearson, Paul Hunt and Camargue. Many of the Fortitude Valley galleries and art spaces, including Jugglers, Ryan Renshaw Gallery and Nine Lives will also open their doors with a series of special events of live music, artist workshops and talks. Come down for Yum Cha Sunday in Chinatown Mall, as the restaurants of the Valley unite to serve Brisbane an outdoor feast for big families of friends with big appetites. Fiesta wants to see everyone eating with their hands and chopsticks, Yum Cha style. Live Music in Brunswick Street Mall, WInn Streeet and the IMA Forecourt on Berwick Street. Teaming up with the music industry showcase and conference, BIG SOUND, the Valley is going to be a week long, live music experience like no other! Fiesta announces it’s first round of bands that includes THE JOHN STEEL SINGERS, YACHT CLUB DJS, HERMITUDE, LAST DINOSAURS, SPOD, LOVE CONNECTION, ROCKETSMITHS, SEJA, EAGLE & THE WORM, PARADES, BALL PARK MUSIC, JINJA SAFARI, DISCO NAP, FERGUS BROWN, DAN PARSONS, DEAD SHADES, COURAGE, POLAROID FAME and THOM THUM (Tom Tom Crew).
