deepblue Touring Oz with a Brand New Show!

Award winning group, deepblue are commencing a national tour with their brand new show the dream.

If you haven’t seen deepblue before, you had better strap yourself in for a totally new experience.  It is entertainment like you have never felt before. deepblue, they look like an orchestra, act like a band and the performance feels like you’re watching theatre or a live movie.

In a perfect combination of classical and film music, rock and electronics, deepblue is a visual and aural experience. The new show The dream follows the story of a young musician’s journey, and explores the fine line between dreams, nightmares and reality…

Their dynamic performance includes a repertoire that ranges from Bollywood to David Bowie and contemporary classical arrangements as well as genre-hopping original compositions written for the group.

Nothing is off limits at the deepblue performance; you can even shape the show as it goes.  The performers ask you to leave your phone ON to SMS them during the show, make requests, give ideas and share your dreams.

deepblue are offering their youngblue programs in conjunction with this performance.  youngblue is where local young musicians are given the opportunity to perform on stage with the group during the concert, this has proven an inspiring and entertaining experience for all involved.  The group also conducts one-hour music and performance workshops so if there's a young musician in your family, go to www.youngblue.net.au to find out more.

The deepblue show is all about entertaining the audience and this philosophy was proven at last year’s Australian Performing Arts Centre Association’s (APACA) wining the national peoples choice award (2009 APACA Drover Award for ‘Excellent Audience Response’ )

“These infectious players plug the orchestra back in...  …it’s an interactive multi-media experience…  …It’s the most fun you’ll have with an orchestra…” Jason Whittaker – Australian Stage Online Oct 2009

“Pushing the concert format into new territory, it looks easy as the players, washed in nightclub lighting, wander around the space delighting in unconventional ways…” Gillian Bramley-Moore Courier Mail Oct 2009

“…Innovative and dynamic, deep blue are like travelling minstrels, moving through the crowd; strumming, plucking and chatting, engaging on all levels…” Marika Bryant Artshub May 2009
