Battle: Los Angeles
End of the world comedy or alien invasion melodrama? How about both. Battle: Los Angeles is one idiotic, cliché-ridden mess of a film but one that is as funny as they come. The cast does indeed deserve combat pay, as delivering lines so corny with a straight face must have taken superhuman powers of concentration.

Here’s the short synopsis, aliens come to earth to move in next door to Charlie Sheen and destroy the rest of the beachfront property worldwide in the process. The aliens this time out, just to make things interesting don’t really use all the advanced technology they must posses to try to conquer us but mostly retread old TV episodes of Combat! and use guns and ground grunts.

The battle this time is across the globe but the film is set in the city of angles and of course the invasion force sets up their headquarters in downtown LA which is convenient for our good guys to save the day, all heroes-no subtitles.

I have a great idea, next time Hollywood makes an alien invasion film, use this plot device like the connection between country music and aliens in Mars Attacks! Have their little green heads explode when they hear too many movie script clichés. Sounds like a good idea? Just make the cheque out to…
