![]() Girl Who Played with Fire Part two of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium trilogy has hit Australian screens recently and the results are a bit of a mixed bag. The Girl Who Played With Fire continues the tales of uber cool anti-hero Lisbeth Salander (played with a sultry and alternative presence by Noomi Rapace) and investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist). This time out Salander is wanted by the authorities after being set up for murder.
The film however still hits the mark with so many other elements; it’s easy to get lost in this world of greed and corruption. It’s also fun to see such a strong and intelligent female badass that uses her brain more than her bod to get things done. It’s hard not to be left with the feeling that The Girl Who Played With Fire plays more like an advert for the trio’s final round, The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest, than a self-standing film but it’s worth seeing and will keep you in the loop until the final chapter makes its way to our screens.
