Happy Family
Charming in a way that English-speaking filmmakers often seem to overstate, Happy Family walks that fine line between sappy and sweet with aplomb. Its mix of fantasy and reality show a deft touch by director Gabriele Salvatores (Mediterraneo).

The story unfolds via a series of whimsical sequences that blur the lines of reality and keep you guessing and is driven along by a great cast. Of particular note is the work of Fabrizio Bentivoglio and Margherita Buy as the parents of one half of the couple to be. Their comic timing is impeccable.
For something beguiling and different, this film is not to be missed. Happy Family is playing now as part of the 2010 Lavazza Italian Film Festival that is currently touring Australia.
