Push This film has received its share of negative press and it seems the biggest problem the reviewers have had with it, is the difficulty in keeping track of the characters actions and intensions. The film’s subject matter of humans with extraordinary skills like telekinesis, clairvoyance and telepathy place it more in the realm of fantasy and the film should be approached with that in mind.
The story revolves around an American entity (The Division) that uses these people’s skills as weapons and with this comes the usual government cruelty. This leads to the daughter of one woman trapped in this facility to concoct a plan to help with her mother’s escape. The way the film is structured in this respect leads to one of its major flaws. We never get to actually see the mother (except a short view of her from behind) or her with her daughter and this robs the film of a lot of its emotional impact.
Taken as a flight of fantasy, the special effects used to show these super powers range from awe inspiring to downright silly, still it’s no sillier than the action portrayed in most fantasy films. Reality this certainly isn’t.
This film is no masterpiece but it’s far from the disaster that some would have you believe. It has its fair share of interesting moments and being set in the East adds a nice exotic feel to the proceedings. It is flawed but still fun. Rob Hudson www.push-themovie.com

Attack the Block The alien invasion genre has been hit particularly
hard of late with the likes of Cloverfield, District 13, Battle: Los

Cornish, for at least trying something a little different.
