![]() Street Dance 3D First things first, the actual storyline in StreetDance 3D is absolutely preposterous, English street toughs join ballet students to ply their trade together on the boards of a prestigious ballet academy, right. Throw in a totally cliché romance angle with an almost surprising twist and you have a decent snicker fest. Now if you are feeling one of those, but it redeems itself scenarios coming on, you’ll just have to read the next par to find out. Ridiculous story aside, there is an athleticism and verve in almost all the dance numbers that pulls this film right out of the cellar and actually enables it to have a certain level of entertainment value. The 3D effects while being almost completely superfluous to the story also crates some interesting visual moments. The mostly unknown cast really attack the dance numbers and there is even a dance routine in the film that provides a quick overview of a number of street dance standard moves. Not knowing this vocabulary at all, one is left with the feeling that the British Chiropractic Society must just love this pastime. The film is almost entirely free of profanities and other than a cafeteria food fight, these lads and lasses are pretty non threatening. So if parents have trouble finding suitable fare for the young ones, they could do a lot worse than sending their progeny off to see StreetDance 3D, just don’t be surprised if they come back moving like Mexican jumping beans.
