Band Of Horses – Infinite Arms
Finding a comfortable niche between dreamy and assertive is not always an easy task. Nor is keeping the alternative heat seekers happy when joining the majors but on Infinite Arms, American porch rockers, Band Of Horses give it their best effort.

The band’s main songwriter and de facto leader Ben Bridwell has an easy on the ears and relaxed vocal delivery that helps to supplement his mostly languid tales of personal triumphs and tragedies. Most of Infinite Arms floats by like voluminous cumulous clouds on a sunny day and you can lay back and revel in the experience while seeing in the sky the characters you desire.
This laid back ideology isn’t the only approach at play though and there are enough moments of guitar insolence to keep things from becoming too maudlin. It’s in this fine balancing act that Band Of Horses prove themselves capable of mixing the smooth and rough with aplomb.
