The Snow Goose – Camel
While cleaning out the backpack that I had used to go to concerts all the way back to the seventies (it really needed cleaning) I found this tiny bit of paper with a picture of the Starship Enterprise on it. I accidentally put it in my mouth because I needed both of my hands for the job at hand and then the strangest things started to happen.
First the music from my stereo started to drip from the speaker in a rainbow stream (I had an album by some upstart band called Camel on at the time) and then the room started to bob up and down like I was in a small boat out on the open seas.
The drips, a blend of machine and finger made sounds also had the voice of some angelic creature stitched in. Soon the slow drips became a tidal wave. These waves ebbed and flowed following the rise and fall of some man made tides and my views went from expansive to isolated to…
I can't really recall what actually happened later or why I suddenly had the urge to go sailing or even why I keep modeling my mashed potatoes into the shape of the Cliffs of Dover but I'm giving The Snow Goose eight out of ten stars just for the unique experience.
