White Denim – Fits

Occasionally there is music that is so overwhelming that words can do little to describe the onslaught. Fits by Austin, Texas band White Denim is just such a collection of songs. So I present to you my humble attempt at first impressions of the tunes on an album that is sure to stay on high rotation in these here parts for a long time to come.
Radio Milk How Can You Stand It
Blasts of rumbling bass, face slapping guitar, mutant horns and a call and response vocal that wouldn’t be out of place at a fire and brimstone house of blue light.
All Consolation
A wall of sound assault that even Phil Specter could hear from behind bars.
Say What You Want
Texas brawn in service of the largest potential tequila hangover on record. Salt and lemon anyone?
El Hard Attack DCWYW
The devil has dealt me a hand I can play at the border and I can’t lose.
I Start To Run
An alibi to a crime that feels like it needs to be committed and soon.
Sex Prayer
In deference to the song title, this instrumental could be the soundtrack to alien porn.
Mirrored and Reversed
Was this song mixed by viewing the desk controls through a carnival sideshow mirror?
Painted Yourself
Unplug brush sizzle sermon megaphone.
I'd Have It Just The Way We Were
Top down highway blast on the road to a rendezvous of ruin.
Everybody Somebody
Dueling guitars, just take ten paces, turn around and fire.
Regina Holding Hands
Regina, you were an angel then and your halo still casts rings around my heart.
Syncn
The sun illuminates the swirls of dust through the crack of light from the gap in the curtains. Do I really have to wake up now?

Thank you for your patience in reading my ramblings, now go out, buy the album and make up your own.
