Nothing Comes Of Thinking
Glasshouse
With a sound that is majestic and powerful, Glasshouse play a version of pure pop where performance plays a more important role than production trickery and studio gloss. The band has just released Nothing Comes Of Thinking and I contacted the Brisbane band to get comments on the six tracks that make up the EP.
It Burns
“This is a song about the addiction I have to the sensation you get from touching someone you love. Despite the bad moments and the fights, it is a hard thing to pass up and I will always run passionately to my doom.”
Withered and Wasted
“This is a song about the point each person reaches in a relationship where love is no longer enough. This is the point where you look back and realise that you have become something you don't like because the relationship has swallowed your individuality and absorbed you into the fold.”
In Between Your Cells
“This deals with the disgusting attempts that people make to convert other people to their beliefs and ideologies. I don't care about the ideology, it's the tactics that frustrate me. It's also the arrogant belief that you are right and someone else is wrong that I can't stand.”
One Night In Your Skin
“This song is about the twisted desire to steal someone’s life for a night so that you can totally destroy it... Or see how far you can get.”
In My Name
“It has never been the war that bothered me. It was the fact that we had no say in it; it was the fact that these atrocities reflect on us as people and are done in the name of all Australians.”
Coming After You
“When everyone argues there is always a point where you can consciously decide where you want the fight to go. This song is just saying choose your words carefully because there are consequences to tipping it over the edge just because you are upset.”
Thanks guys.
