Alchemy
Alchemy plays diverse guitar music that ranges from pop to funk to rock to country all layered with two, three and sometimes 5 part vocal harmonies. In 1998, the band released a 4 song live E.P. which was well received. In 1999, they released their self-titled debut album, which included the single Angels. The band has recently released their second full-length album Suburban Groove. They have also filmed a video for the single U Will Be Mine and that clip is currently getting airplay on Rage and MTV.

Angels
This track is from our self-titled first album. It's about how all of us have a Guardian Angel looking out for us. It's still up to us to make good choices and if we don't, then the situations in our lives get more difficult, but I believe we do have someone looking out for us.

U Will Be Mine
This is the first single from our second album. It's about seeing a girl, liking the girl, wanting the girl. A love song with an upbeat tempo and a sing-a-long chorus. Currently getting played on MMM and the film clip is on Rage.

Suburban Groove
This is the title track of our second album, it's a song about how all of us are in a groove, even if we don't know it. I have lived all of my life in suburbia and I like my little groove most of the time, but sometimes I just want to break out!


Peter Dowse
Peter Dowse is one of Brisbane’s most promising up and coming musicians who writes and performs his own original music. Having started from an early age, he has played musical instruments such as guitar, drumkit, percussion, trumpet and flute. Peter has performed as a busker on the streets of Brisbane, on cruise boats partaking in the Brisbane River Festival, in original contemporary bands at various venues, in a percussion group which he formed, and other various projects.

Launching forth on his solo career, Peter’s strength lies in his ability to write thought-provoking lyrics which portray life in Australia through a young man’s eyes.

Employment
A song with an uplifting beat, soaring vocals and a slight folk influence. It portrays the struggle of seeking employment in today’s economic climate – one to get the foot tapping.

Coming Home
A melodic ballad depicting coming home from a long journey, with intricate fingerpicking and thoughtful, heartfelt lyrics. A full-sounding song which anyone who has travelled away from home can relate to.

Rainy Sunday
An instrumental with classical undertones, one can imagine many scenes whilst listening to this track. The sound of rain can be heard faintly in the background, creating a lively and beautiful ambience. Listen closely and examine, or simply have as pleasant background music.


Matthew Mikkelsen Ensemble
These songs are from Matthew Mikkelsen Ensemble release titled While the Giant Sleeps. These tracks were laid down mostly first take and feature a strong group improvisational groove.
